Dinky Toys 505 1st type Foden Chain Wagon Very Near Mint/Boxed

This model was only ever produced for 9 months from January 1952 & hence has held the place as one of the rarest Dinky commercials produced. A real iconic Dinky!

This 1st type 505 is the green version with with lighter green cab flash. Large painted tow hook but the paint has virtually come off, the tyres are all in good order, light green ridged hubs, very slight bend to a rear chain posts & all have correct dimpled bosses. Tank slots to casting which is again correct for this version, nice clean original chain, '20' transfer, bright silver trim with just a nick to osf & clean axles with minor tarnishing which are all correctly secured with clips. A couple of dots to the corner of the cab roof, thinly painted to side of flat bed which has slightly rubbed & just an odd dot/rub or two besides for this very nice example.

The correctly 'G' stamped blue box with wrap round orange/white label is very presentable, strongly coloured label, smooth feel, & most certainly no repairs/splits or punctures. Some light wear & an odd stain is all to disclose.

A very clean example of this hard to find early variation.
