Dinky Toys 280g 'Bentall's' Promotional Type 2 Delivery van (L.C)

'These Bentall's vans were actually given to their Transport Division as this was quite extensive at the time. 200 models were made and given to the workers. Any models that were left over, and there were just a few, were sold in the store for six pence old money'.

This 1939 Type 2 'Bentall's promotional delivery van comes in dark green with off white roof & silver radiator. Yellow side panels with green 'Bentalls' lettering, gold lettering below side panels, white tyres mounted on smooth black hubs, crimped axle ends to the front & straight axle to the rear. Obvious signs of moderate chipping & some very minor fatigue/crazing are it for this very scarce promotional van.

Please note there has been no varnishing or any repairs to this truly amazing model. It does show signs of wear but I personally think this enhances the appeal of this pre war Dinky van.

There are only around 5 listed surviving 'Bentall's' in the world & hence it's such a privileged to be able to offer this really rarity for sale on my site.
