The Rover Motor Company commissioned a very limited quantity of these desk top boxes with gold-plated cars to coincide with it's launch in 1963. 
The 252 is gold plated with spun shaped hubs, well shaped tyres, trans o lite, firm suspension, red interior & clean baseplate. Shows some minimal wear to plate finish..

The display box/container has wooden box has leather base & marble finish lid with correct Rover 2000 sticker to inside of lid. A very nice example
